About the instructor

Laura Jacobs

Laura Jacobs has taught sixth-grade language arts in Wake County, North Carolina for eleven years. She attained her bachelors from East Carolina University and her masters from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Currently she is pursuing her doctorate in Teacher Education and Learning Sciences in the area of Literacy Studies at North Carolina State University.In addition to teaching sixth grade, Laura has created credit renewal courses focused on literacy strategies for teachers across the state of North Carolina. She also is an adjunct professor at East Carolina University, working with undergraduate students in the Literacy and History Studies Department. When she is not teaching, Laura enjoys crafting, traveling, and catching up on the latest young adult novels.
